It feels like Spring! (Finally!)

We went for a walk last week to check out the rising river. It was too warm for a winter hat, and too sunny for no hat, so Sophia got to wear her cowgirl hat!

This was 2 blocks west of our house, about 4 days before the crest (the crest was on Sunday)

On the right hand side of this pic you can see the dike that was built around the house 2 blocks west of us

Sophia LOVES puddles! (She now has rubber boots for her puddle play)

On Saturday we went to Grand Forks for cousin Gabby's 7th birthday. Between the overland and the rivers flooding, it looked like we were driving down the middle of a lake! Scary!

You can't usually see water in this area...

Sophia missed the water on the way there...she was too busy napping!

Pre-party! Playing with cousin Gunner

The birthday girl! Gabby

Cousin Magdalene helped Sophia discover m & m's in the trail mix!

Hanging out with Grandma Carmen!

And her Grandpa Ralph!

Gunner is so good with Sophia...he always shares with her and tries to play with her!

With Great-Aunt Kathy

Cake time!

The cake was soooo yummy! (DQ ice cream cake!) Sophia ate half of mine!

More attempts at getting pics of all the cousins!

She loves helping with the presents :)

Sophia with her (cousin once removed? 2nd cousin?) Ireland. Sophia's 1 month older, but Ireland's "6 months bigger!" :)

Silly Grandpa :)

Travis took Sophia to the YMCA today for playgroup, and I coerced him into taking some pictures (I've never been to this playgroup. They go every Thurs morning). The kids spend a lot of time running around in the indoor skatepark! Here Sophia is climbing up a ramp...

The little boy to the left is William! The twins came to playgroup today for the first time!

And Amelia!

Climbing up a ramp! She looks like a frog :)

The twins in the middle of some major kiddie madness!

Last week our weather really started to warm up (and now we're making flood preparations!). All the "kids" really enjoyed the sunshine.
Sophia still enjoys the occasional "daddy nap."

Getting ready for our trip to Bemidji! We went to the lake last Fri, and stayed through Sunday afternoon.

Sophia and her cousin DJ playing the piano in Bemidji!

On Fri evening Sophia and DJ helped bake the cake....

With a little assistance from Grandma!

Dancing cousins!

Sophia and Jaylin colored together

And the three cousins had their Friday night bath together!

The two girls on Saturday morning (ignore the fact that my child is super sick AND crying in this pic--it happens!)

Dance party! Jaylin put strands of toilet paper on every one for a dance performance...the guys got "ties" and the girls got "hair ribbons" Sophia and I were the only ones spared (we were the audience)

Dancing siblings!

Sophia and DJ going for a ride on the sled

My two favorite rednecks! Saturday was snowmobiling and hanging out, and Sophia stayed with her cousins and grandparents while Travis and I went to see Avatar at the theater...our first real date!

On Sunday Travis and I went on our second real date--snowboarding at Buena Vista. It was BEAUTIFUL...50 degrees and not a cloud, and the snow wasn't half bad (not going to comment on the "mountain") :) --It was fun! And Sophia had an awesome time at the park, and even had a nap before we got back!

Posing at the top of a trail :)

When I'm cooking Sophia has to be helping! She's really into the sink and rinsing out dishes right now!

This Saturday we went to the Celtic Festival at the Hjemkomst Center. It was so fun! Sophia did a lot of dancing (in the aisle during a music & clogging performance!), coloring, eating, and running around!

Snacking (she loved the shortbread!)

Changing her leopard's diaper! Notice that the leopard has a cub in its mouth...it's so cute!

Wrestling!

Sophia's hair is getting long and wild! Still no hair cuts...

Naked baby time!

Too tired! She's sleeping with a slice of garlic bread in her mouth. (I put her down for a nap right after taking this picture!)
