Here are a couple more

Last night we were leaving the park and a young couple were walking past us. Sophia said "Mommy and daddy walking to river." She had to pause in certain places (mommy and daddy...walking...to river) and I could tell she was putting a real effort into translating her thoughts...kind of like learning a foreign language. It's so interesting!

"Night, night. Sweet dreams."

Another phrase she recently came out with: "How about nursey?"

This is a common theme...

Some Recent Sentences

I know that acquiring language is a universal talent, but that knowledge doesn't make Sophia's progress in learning the English language any less amazing for her mommy! Being able to communicate with Sophia is thrilling--it offers a completely new level of connection and understanding. She seems particularly chatty on the weekends, when she has both of her parents hanging on to her every word. I thought I would share a few recent sentences/phrases:

"Night-night, little girl...sleep well" (putting a dolly down for a nap)

"Night-night, sleep tight..........nursey?"

"What is Dali doing?"

"Where is Travis? Where is he?"

"Sophia go outside"

"Walk dogs river?"

"Watch Milo Otis downstairs?"

"I love you"

More Spring fun!

The park is like a 2nd home these days :)

The tulips bloomed!

Sophia had a nice visit with her Grammy...they did lots of reading and playing outside!

Sophia with daddy at the YMCA play group

Grammy got to go to play group too!

The day after Grammy flew in (last, last Sunday) we went to Grand Forks for Travis' little birthday party! It was beautiful, and we had lots of trampoline and horsing around time!

Whee! We joked that, for a week, Grammy was Sophia's #1 "Minion" (basically, Sophia's slave!) She has a way of making people her slaves. :)

Lindsey was a way better behaved pony than Pepper!

Easter and Playing in the Sun Fun!

Sophia averages about 2 trips to the park across the street every day. She loves to go down the slide and then run over to the swings for a little flying time on mommy's lap!
Her stuffed animals are always subjected to Sophia's favorite hobbies...

More stuffed animal torture! Sophia loves the concept of horse-riding, and loves to make her toys ride her rocking horses, horse models, each other, the dogs...it's amazing what she comes up with to mimic a horse and rider combo!
We love our messy pictures!

Easter! We had a beautiful Easter, and spent most of the time (including the egg hunt) outside. That's Sophia and Grandma Carmen checking out Katie and Penny. We did lots of playing with the horses! Sophia got to go for a cart ride with Pepper and a little ride on Katie (both double saddle with her cousin DJ and double saddle with me!) and I even cantered Katie outside a bit ...it's been a while since I've done that! We're excited for lots of horsing around this summer!

Saying hello to Pepper, the "grandkids' pony."

Bonding with Pepper

Pepper was a good sport and took us 3 girls for a little ride in the cart! (With Carmen at his head). That's Sophia's cousin, Jaylin in the cart with us! Her brother, DJ, got on once we were outside...little Pepper pulled four people! Not bad!

Hunting for Easter eggs! Sophia followed the treasure map her Grandpa Ralph made to find all of her little pink eggs! She loved the jelly beans and chocolates inside! (And mommy and daddy did too) :) It was the most epic egg hunt I have ever witnessed...between the personalized eggs and treasure maps Grandpa Ralph is the master of Easter fun!

Hanging out with cousin Gabby

Again with cousin Gabby and some not-so well hidden eggs (but very festive!)

With Magdalene and some more eggs. Sophia really loved opening them to look at her prizes!
I think I missed a couple of pictures and I'll have to take a look for them later, but you get the gist...Easter was beautiful and super fun!!!
