September Pics

I can't believe how easy it is to fall behind with the pictures! We kicked September off with a long, beautiful Labor day weekend at the lake.
Little cousin Ava, Grandma and Sophia
Travis and I enjoyed bringing Sophia and her cousin DJ to the neighboring park

Sophia finally has the hang of swimming around with a life vest on!

Sophia with oldest cousin, Jaylin, enjoying an evening of bonfires and s'mores.

Sorry this is blurry... Sophia and Ava were too cute riding double-saddle on the rocking horse!
 4 cousins in a paddleboat!
Last boat rides of the year :)

Travis took Sophia for another spin in the Corvette... she loves that car!
We all walked and the DJ and Sophia rode bikes to a local pizza place... fun!

More boating! Labor Day was STUNNING!

I love that I have a hubby who thought to take a pic of my fridge collage before he tore it down :) Our house is "show-room" ready 24/7 now, and we've had lots of people looking at it! Feels a little impersonal, and I can't wait to have clutter again :)
 This was too cute :)
Right after Labor Day Sophia and I rode bikes to the annual Midwest Kidfest down the road from our house in Gooseberry Park. It was HOT and we both got crabby, but did manage to have a lot of fun before the crabby time started :) I also have to be grateful that, even when she's crabby, Sophia is still a great kid and listens well... I think she inherited a lot of her dad's laid back-ness!

Always love a little petting zoo action!

This is my favorite! On Sept 12 Sophia attended a "mom's helper" class at our birthing center. She called it "the Big Sister" class. :) She took it VERY seriously and I just about cried watching her pay such close attention to the ins and outs of becoming a big sister!

Learning to put a diaper on the new baby...

Bottle-feeding (and I was glad that the teacher talked about using expressed breast milk in bottles!)

Sophia made a card for Tadpole in the class, that is waiting in the bassinet!
Sophia is STILL very princessy! She made me take a pic of these ladies on their "stage"
We are now indulging in homemade pizza once a week... any theories as to why I've been gaining 1--2 lbs/week for the last month or two?? ;)
I should have been more strict about her bedtime-delaying tactics, but it's just so cute!
On Friday Sophia's class had a "Peace Performance." Sophia doesn't attend school on Fridays, so Travis brought her in just for the performance and we let her wear an outfit of her choosing. :)
On Sunday the 23rd we went to Grand Forks to attend our nephew, Hudson's, baptism! Very special!

A 9 months pregnant photo for you! HUGENESS!
And a little drama for our lives.... on Saturday the 22nd Margie was horribly injured in a riding accident (Travis didn't even bruise! He's fine, thank goodness). Her right foreleg was cut to the bone and the cut went through some tendons. We raced her to Casselton Clinic and two surgeons performed surgery on the leg. She has been at the clinic ever since, but may be able to go back to the stable today! She'll have to be kept in a stall for 4 weeks and will have to wear a fancy splint. And YES... that is duct tape on her temporary leg wrap! Will the duct tape possibilities ever end?? :) We are very, very lucky that the surgery went well and the Dr. expects Margie to make a nearly 100% recovery with time.

We visited Margie on Sunday after the baptism, so this is our "churchy barn look." :) We really found out what a huge part of our family she is... we would go to the ends of the earth for her! Especially when there's a little girl involved who keeps asking "what happened to my horse?" Ugh... heartbreaking. OH - and to add to the drama... of course there's a baby coming any day AND on Tuesday we sold our house! What a month!
