Sophia, the expert walker! (and baby-talker!)

Weekend Pictures

Sophia loves any kind of pasta...especially spaghetti!
Reasons why it takes 45 minutes to walk around the block: First we have to play in the leaves!
Then we have to investigate the neighbor's berry bush!

Then we have to play with another neighbor's pug, Oliver!

Then we remember our own dogs as we walk by our yard...

And have to stop to give Charlie some big hugs! :)

This weekend we experimented with homemade play-doh for the first time. Sophia was enthralled for about 2 minutes...I think she's still a little young for it. :) (Travis and I sure enjoyed it, though!)

One more weekend note: Even though all 3 of us were sick we tried to get outside as much as we could...we have had blue skies and temps in the 50's and low 60's for a week now! When you get 60 degrees in November in Minnesota you go outside, fever or no! :)

More Lists!

Sophia is changing so rapidly now...I think it's time for some more lists! Here are some features of Sophia, the BIG TODDLER:

1. Sophia can walk! And RUN! And squat down, carry a toy...just about anything!
2. Sophia has lots of words (some of which only I can understand). Here are a few: Mama, dada, hi, bye, baby (beebee), dog (da), cat, puppy (puppa), clock (cock), croc (cock), sock, shoe (soo), book, truck (chuck), eye, duck...these are the ones I can think of right away...
3. Sophia mixes language with pointing and gesturing...she points to everything and asks "sa?" and that means we have to tell her the name of that object. This happens a lot when we're reading.
4. Sophia loves books! She will pull a book off her shelf and bring it to one of us, and we have to sit down and read it with her...and sometimes she'll want the same book 3 times in a row. :)
5. She's a hugger and a kisser, even with her toys.
6. SOPHIA SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT! Usually about 8-10 hours.
7. Sophia only nurses about 4 times in a 24 hour period now...which means I should really cut back on my caloric intake...
8. She loves to dance, and her daddy loves to bang on anything (like a spoon on the table) to get her into a dancing frenzy
9. She loves to wave
10. And clap
11. And give high-5s!
12. She loves tackling us and pillows, and really likes rough-play with lots of tickling
13. Sophia is way into her stacking and nesting blocks, and also likes to hide things (like little duckies) in her stacking blocks and surprise me with them
14. She LOVES pouring water between different cups, buckets, etc. In fact, the only pain-free way to get her out of the tub is to offer "nursey"
15. Sophia can play like a big girl...she has a little doll bed that she puts her dolly in and then she feeds her dolly, she bathes her baby in the bathtub (and even makes the "shhh" noise for the water!), she'll pretend her puppy is attacking things...it's so fun to watch her pretend!

Happy Halloween!

The Spooking cousins! Magdalene and Sophia as Hannah Montana and Gabby the doctor! (Gunner would later transform into spiderman!)
The two Hannah Montanas
Gabby reading to Sophia!

Princess Jaylin!

Sophia with her Aunti Lindsey

The girls!

Jaylin can really keep her cool!

The two spidermen cousins, Gunner and DJ!

The 2 Hannah Montanas again

SO hard to get the cousins to all stay still! By the time my camera focused we were missing a spiderman and a Hannah Montana was leaving :)

Grandma Carmen knows how to get Sophia to sit still: cookie bribery! :D

Grandpa Ralph caught on to the bribery too...

Playing with the dancing bunny!

We love great-grandma Mary :)

Toys! Toys! Toys!

Travis made Sophia an EPIC toybox!
The sign on the wall says it all: "Little Princess." Sophia loves her special little space!

Of course the cats think it's THEIR special space :)

Sophia is OBSESSED with books!

And baby-dolls :)

Thanks for the delicious doll tub, Grammy!

Look Who's WALKING!!!!

The Pumpkin Patch and more!

Those are some funny farm animals!
Checking out the chickens with daddy

Sophia loved the little "petting zoo!"

Cuddle bugs!

I CAN juggle 3 babies! (But one's enough for me!) :)

It was a beautiful day!

The goofiest cowpokes!

Just over 2 feet tall!

Pony ride! The woman leading the pony was so impressed that Sophia reached right for the saddle horn and was completely at home on the pony's back. Sophia was even a tad upset when we had to walk away from the ponies! Obviously a budding horsewoman... :)

Waiting for our wagon ride out to the pumpkin field!

Travis and Sophia in the wagon with Jindallay, Chris and the twins!

Sophia gaurding our first pumpkin pick

Sophia got really excited about some other toddlers and started yelling!

Heading out of the pumpkin patch...what a fun day!

Yes, Sophia has her own little laptop toy. She loves it, and she gets to be like mommy and daddy when we use our computer!

I brought a cupcake home for Travis, but Sophia went into my purse and helped herself!

Sophia loves her daddy's specialty: pizza! Notice that she takes off the cheese, licks off the tomato sauce, and then eats the crust...she hardly ever goes back for the cheese!

CrAZy BAbY! (She was excited for raspberries!)

Sophia loves to climb up on our little table and read (or destroy) the magazines

Holding baby

Hanging out on another beautiful fall day!

Feedin baby :)
