Visit with our Alaskan Besties!

Last Sunday we headed out to Kari's parents' farm for Levi's 2nd birthday party... it was so nice to see our good friends again! Now we just have to get out to Alaska to visit them...

Levi got right into being a dirty lil farm boy!

Sophia and Levi going for a ride with Kari and Aaron on the 4-wheeler!

This last weekend Kari, Aaron and Levi came over to our place on Sat and spent the night, and headed to the airport from our house Sun morning! It was so awesome to spend Saturday with them... very sad to see them go again. Levi really bonded with our cats!

Hanging out in the backyard

Levi and Sophia at the wine table!

Excuse the hose... what can I say? I'm the daughter of a firefighter!

Sophia and Levi in the bath! I keep waiting for her to notice the major difference between girls and boys. She hasn't noticed yet!

Sophia and I on Sunday the 4th, after our workout! She ran half a mile with mommy! Then mommy ran 10 miles! Sophia might participate in her first running event this October... we'll see if she's ready! She sure loves to run!

Sunday afternoon we headed out to Buffalo State Park. Our plan was to camp, but Sophia and I both woke up Sunday with colds, so we decided not to push our luck by camping out in 40 degree weather! We've had some chilly nights lately, and beautiful days!

The dogs enjoyed the park VERY much!

Sophia and Casey running down the Prairie trail.

We saw lots and lots of butterflies

We got lost trying to find our way through the prairie off the trail! The grass is deceptively TALL!

Casey had to bounce through the grass. We couldn't even see Charlie!

Checking out more butterflies!

After hiking around for a couple hours we were ready for a picnic!

Sophia couldn't resist the swimming pond!

Sophia can walk Charlie by herself now!

After all that vigorous activity Sophia and I needed a long, hot bath with our lavender salts :)

Looks like lots of fun! Love the "My Mom Ran the Fargo Marathon" shirt and that you already have her running. I keep meaning to get J to do a kids run but never make it happen. Maybe you will inspire me!
