Florida Photo Dump!

This pic is from our second day at Siesta Key... the forecast was rain all day, so we headed to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa!
An owl... there was a cool atrium in their "wetlands" exhibit...

Okay there are a LOT of aquarium photos because Sophia likes looking at these types of pics on the blog... sorry!

Group photo with her Pop-Pop and Grammy!
Ugh, lately she makes lots of silly faces when I'm trying to take nice pictures...
These shells were probably Sophia's favorite thing in the aquarium!

That's an alligator (or maybe a crocodile... I still can't tell the difference!)
The sea otters were my favorite thing in the aquarium! I want one!

 A double-headed snail!
Uncle Chris having fun making a "butt-snail"

Grandpa and Grandma C were camping out at Siesta Key (in Tropical Storm Debbie!) in their motor home, and came over that night to hang out... and take some family photos! We have the "Four generations" photo above...
Sophia with Grandma C and Grandpa
Zonked out! Again Sophia is sleeping on her quillow... she is still sleeping on it every night and has to take it with her wherever we go. Grandpa C made her a great present!
Um... I tried to take pictures during our last day at Siesta Key, but the salt was blowing off the ocean so hard it covered the lens!

We hit up an amazing Italian bakery in Siesta before we began our drive inland to the next condo, in Kissimmee. I have to say that, as we drove inland, I noticed the wind dying down and the weather improving. I've never been glad to leave a beach before... I was this time!
Sophia hit the pool right when we got to Kissimmee! Hanging out with Aunt Sammy and Uncle Chris
My brother Sky and hubby Travis hanging out in the hot tub...

Our condo in Kissimmee was amazing! The whole family really went all out on this trip... it's nice to indulge once in a while :)
 The balcony overlooking the pools
The Kissimmee weather was so hot Sophia's icecream melted before she could eat it!

Group pic! Grammy, Sammy, Sophia, Chris, Travis
Another group pic! Sammy, Travis and Sophia, me, and Chris
My brother, Sky, and his gf, Roberta, rented bikes for a little tour around the area (no thanks; I stayed lounging around the pool!)
The condos were so cute... they organized little games and activities every day. The pic above is of my mom competing in a mean beanbag toss competition. She actually did really well! She advanced further than my brothers! Sophia participated in the hula hooping activity... she can actually almost do it!
During one of Sophia's naps Travis and I got away for a frisky little game of Pirate Golf
I have to mention that I did get a hole in one! Okay, I also had 4 mulligans...

Notice that the only female pirate looks like an adult film star?
The boys were really good sports about playing ball toss with Sophia. A LOT.

On Thursday we woke up early and got ready for DISNEY!!! Sophia dressed up as Cinderella :)
We went to Animal Kingdom first. Sophia convinced me to try a triceratops ride. I'm not a fan of spinning right now!
Haha... 3D glasses for the "It's a Bug's Life" show. That was pretty neat!
Checking out some of the animals...

 Gorilla!

 These are huge bats

 Tigers!
You'll see lots of these pics... Sophia spent like 30% of her Disney time riding on Pop-Pop
Awww... Sophia holding hands with her Uncle Sky while we waited for the bus to take us to Magic Kingdom
Hooray for Magic Kingdrom!!! Of course we had to take our little Cinderella to the castle right away!
 Inside the castle
Sophia loved the carousel! We went on it twice! (More spinning... ugh)

 Chris, Sammy and Roberta

Starting to get a little sleepy!
This was our first indoor Disney ride... "It's a Small World," of course!

Sophia was pretty wide-eyed on every ride!
Wow, my preggo belly is getting BIG!

Sophia finally zonked while we were in line for the Pirates of the Carribean ride, which was fine since the line was about 1/2 hour long. She did wake up DURING the ride, which is kind of a freaky way to wake up when you're 3! She enjoyed it after some reassurance, though!
The rest of my family peeled off to go to the Haunted Mansion (too scary for Sophia!) and Travis and I really enjoyed just hanging out as our own little family for a bit. We hit up the Swiss Family Robinson tree house first...

Sophia loved the bird show in the Tiki room! Good, clean, old fashioned Disney fun!

We went on a Safari boat ride (with animatronic animals)... again, Sophia loves looking at these pics on the blog. Sorry about the overload!

Travis and I have a thing for gallows...
 Another 3D show!

Our last ride was Peter Pan... magical.
We stayed for the Disney Electric Light Parade! They light up the castle at night. An enchanting experience for a little girl!
Sophia scored an overpriced Mickey balloon from Grammy and Pop-Pop (we still have it!)
The electric light parade!!! Again... TONS of pictures :)

The day after Disney (Friday) we checked out of the condos and had a big, family breakfast... and then said our good byes to Sophia's uncles and aunts. Their planes left on Friday!

Me, Sophia, my mom, dad and hubby

Saturday morning we woke up EARLY to catch our flight back to MN! The only snag was at security... the guards made Sophia put her doll on the X-ray belt and Sophia just cried and panicked until she got her doll back. I was so tired that I almost started crying too! It was so sad! Then she stuffed her doll in her shirt and didn't let her go until we got home!
Cuddling on the quillow on the plane :) Bye-Bye FL! We're hoping to go back in a few year... when "Tadpole" is old enough to enjoy it!
