Birthdays, More Birthdays, and the County Fair!

Sophia enjoying her birthday dinner at Johnny Carino's on the 8th!

The horses seemed really interested in the pheasant hen hanging out in their pasture!

All three horses lounging in the dirt in the sun on Wednesday morning :)
On Wednesday evening we jetted up to Grand Forks for our Goddaughter, niece Ava's, 2nd birthday party! Oldest cousin Jaylin is a natural with her little sis, Ava, and our Kaia!

Cousins! Sophia, Kaia, Jaylin, Ava, Gabby and Gunner

The men engaged in some serious bean bag toss.

Grandpa Ralph and Ava's Grandpa Bill

Kaia with her Aunt Lindsey

The babies! 12 mo Hudson and 9 mo Kaia, hanging out!

Lindsey threw Ava's party at the splash park where we had Sophia's first 3 birthday parties. Sophia loved visiting the splash pad again! She still talks about having her party in that park, but I explain that there's no way all of her friends are going to drive an hour to Grand Forks :)

Birthday girl Ava!

Happy birthday, Ava Joy!!

The next night, Thursday, we headed to the Clay County Fair in Barnesville, just south of our home!

We were lucky to run into Sophia's old friend from the Academy, Santi. We were able to squeeze in one ride with Santi before his family took off!

We met up with Sophia's good Glyndon friend, Lily, at the fair and the girls had a blast!
Checking out the Funhouse...

These girls are the cutest!
Checking out the 4-H horses...
Lily and Sophia hanging out in the sheep and goat barn...

Poultry barn! Sophia was the most interested in this barn... we went back several times! I think we'll be getting some chicks next spring, and we might have a "show chicken" for next year's county fair??

Sophia and Lily on their last ride of the evening. They were very brave; this was a pretty bouncy ride that went high up! Big girls!

Our baby barn swallows are looking pretty grown-up these days!
